Metalizing is the general term for the technique that involves the application of metal on the surface of objects which is usually done via the electrolytic process. A metallic coating serves both decorative and protective functions. An objected that has been coated with metal would not only have a shiny reflective surface but also be better protected against rust and wear from the environment.
